A free reverse phone lookup that keeps it simple
Missed a call from a number you don't know? Type it in and see who it belongs to, where it's from, and what other people say about it. No account, no credit card, and no wall of pop-ups.
Who called me?
We check the caller ID name on file with phone carriers, the same name that shows up on your screen when it rings. If there's a name on record, you'll see it.
Where is it from?
Every number belongs to a block assigned to a city and state. We show you that location for free on every search, even when no name is on file.
Is it a scam?
People report the numbers that call them. If a number has been flagged as a scam, robocall, or debt collector, you'll know before you call back.
Why is it free?
The site runs on a small number of ads. We keep them to a minimum, and repeat searches load from saved results, which keeps costs down for everyone.
Questions people ask
Is DialCheck really free?
Yes. Basic lookups are free with no account. Each visitor gets a set number of fresh lookups per day so the service stays free for everyone. Numbers someone already looked up recently load instantly and don't count.
Where does the information come from?
Caller names come from the same caller ID records phone carriers use to show a name on your screen. Location comes from public phone numbering data. Spam ratings come from reports by people who got calls from the number.
Can I find out who owns a cell phone number?
Often, yes. Many cell numbers have a caller ID name on file. If the owner never set one, or asked us to hide it, you'll still see the carrier, line type, location, and any spam reports.
What does it mean if a number is VoIP?
VoIP numbers run over the internet instead of a regular phone line. Scammers and robocallers use them a lot because they're cheap and easy to fake. A VoIP number isn't automatically a scam, but be careful with one you don't know.
Can I look up who texted me?
Yes. A number that texts you is the same number that would call you, so search it the same way.
Will the person know I looked them up?
No. Searches are private. We never contact the number or tell anyone it was searched.
How do I remove my number?
Use the Remove my info page. Your name is hidden right away, and the number's public page comes down.
Can I use this for hiring or renting decisions?
No. DialCheck is not a consumer reporting agency. You can't use it to decide on employment, housing, credit, insurance, or anything else covered by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Remove your information
If your name shows up when someone looks up your number, you can hide it here. Your name is hidden as soon as you submit.
